July 26, 31 & August 2
‘Bringing Hope by the Scoop’ returns for the third consecutive year in partnership with Cleveland’s favorite ice cream, Mitchell’s Homemade Ice Cream! Help fill our bookshelves by donating NEW children’s books during one of our three events at Mitchell’s and receive a free scoop of ice cream!
Thursday, July 26 – SOLON
Tuesday, July 31 – OHIO CITY with local children’s author, Julie Goulis
Thursday, August 2 – ROCKY RIVER with local children’s author, Julie Goulis
All events take place from 6:30 – 8:00 pm.
Note: The free scoop is one per donor, while supplies last. For example, if a family of five comes in with one book, they get one coupon. If each person in the family brings a book, they each get a coupon. Donors will only receive one free scoop of ice cream total and cannot bring a book to each event and receive a scoop on each night.
New this year! Featuring local children’s book author, Julie Goulis! Julie will have her books available for sale during the events, and she will also be donating books to BHITC.
Julie discovered early on that her imagination could keep her entertained for hours. When she and her sisters weren’t playing keep away from the imaginary crocodiles at the bottom of the stairs, she was out running around with her Holly Hobby doll. She also loved to read, with Hansel and Gretel as her favorite book. She now uses her imagination as a senior copywriter at Progressive’s in-house advertising agency, 96 Octane, and dreaming up new book ideas. Julie still has her Holly Hobby doll, but she has some new favorite children’s books. Julie lives in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland. Learn more about Julie’s books at www.bubblegumbooks.com.
Need book ideas? No problem! Plan to purchase one of Julie’s books that night or visit our Amazon ‘Wish List’ of recommended books here. Note: If you order through Amazon, unless you change the shipping option, the book(s) will automatically be shipped to our office.
