Church plants often host outreach events to get to know members of the community where they are planting the church.  This helps not only to build relationships, but also helps the church plant to best know the needs of the people in the neighborhood.  Volunteers are needed to help plan and/or attend these types of outreach events at our six church plants.

Attend Worship Services

As new churches are trying to get off the ground, having existing believers willing to attending services is a huge blessing!  These volunteers do not need to commit to every single Sunday, but regular or even periodic attendance will help the church to build relationships and meet newcomers.

Meals Ministry Volunteer

Organize your small group, book club, friends or family to provide a meal before a tutoring session.  This allows tutors who are coming straight from work to enjoy a nice meal with the student they tutor before getting started for the evening.  If you don’t have time to make a whole meal, donating healthy snacks is a great help, too.

Already enjoy scrapping metal? Want to learn how? It’s actually very easy! We are finally able to make room to separate out our scrap metals and need faithful individuals willing to pick it up, scrap it, and bring the money to our main office. Pick-up frequency would vary but we would only need it once we collected a large enough load to make it worth the trip.

Childcare Volunteers

While parents’ are in classes at The Hope Center, free childcare and activities are provided for the children. Volunteers are needed to help watch the children and create activities for older children, as needed. Volunteers are especially needed to assist with childcare in the mornings.

Every quarter, Common Threads hosts a special event like Ladies Night Out or a season-themed party. We need someone who likes to put on a great shin-dig! You will work with staff and other volunteers to plan details of the event and then work to implement those plans up through the night of the event.
