“Prayer walking is chiefly about being present and seeing your surroundings through God’s eyes” – Stephanie Spellers

Building Hope in the City (BHITC) is hosting a series of monthly prayer walks beginning in May, bringing together pastors, leaders and committed residents as we seek to connect to the heart of the Clark-Fulton and Stockyards community.

During the walks, we’ll walk with local residents, learn more about the community (history, current dynamics, and future dreams) and experience the neighborhood at a much slower pace and deeper level than you might if driving around the block.

We’ll be paying attention to our senses during the time and how we sense God speaking. What are we seeing, hearing, smelling and feeling? Where are the signs of hope and signs of need? How is God prompting us to be present to both? These prayer walks will emphasize listening to God in prayer as much as responding in prayer to all that we’re experiencing.

Join us for an immersive and communal experience this summer! We’re excited to connect folks from different walks of life as we listen to God and our community together!
