Rally CLE: Rallying Neighbors to Lead Positive Change in Clark-Fulton, Stockyards, & Brooklyn Centre
Rally CLE is led and hosted by Building Hope in the City. It is a grant process and project day, which seeks to unite and engage residents around the ideas they have for improving their communities by supporting projects & grassroots programs that promote connection, equity and grassroots leadership. We support residents in the Clark-Fulton, Stockyards and Brooklyn Centre communities through small grants (up to $2,000 per project or program), project planning support, neighbor engagement assistance, as well as volunteer and/or professional support needed for your project to succeed. Past projects have included but are not limited to:
• Block parties to build community between neighbors
• Storytelling and oral history initiatives with long-time neighbors
• Community garden installations or improvements
• Murals and public art projects
• Pocket park installations or improvements
• Cooking classes/art classes for youth in the neighborhood
• Greenspace or alley clean-ups/beautification
September 10, 2022, is the Rally CLE event day where Building Hope will gather resident leaders and supporting volunteers to either start, partially complete, or fully complete your project or program. This year, we’re hoping for 12-15 resident-led projects or programs. In the time leading up to that event, we will provide the implementation and planning support needed to bring your project to life! The project deadline for 2022 has now passed - watch for stories on these amazing projects soon!
On September 10, all participants will meet at West 58th Street Church of God (3150 W 58th St, Cleveland, OH 44102) for a morning rally. Don’t miss your chance to hear residents share their stories of resilience and God’s faithfulness in the city. The morning rally begins at 8:00 am sharp! From there, participants will divide into their project teams throughout these neighborhoods for the remainder of the day.
