In this podcast we explore what it means to be a "good neighbor.”

In this season, we draw inspiration from the life of Jesus using the parable of the Good Samaritan and  Jesus time in Samaria in Chapter 4 of the Gospel of John as our guide and template to neighboring. Jesus  didn't avoid Samira like most Jews of his day. Jesus intentionally went through the "bad part of town."  We follow Jesus model of confronting the cultural taboos of our day that would label people as unclean  and “other.” We sit with folks who have embodied the story parable of the good Samaritan and find out  if the grass isn't as green on the “other” side.

Mark 12:28-34

And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
