BHITC provides English instruction for beginner, intermediate and advance levels. The Center also offers morning and evening classes to help refugees prepare for the U.S. Citizenship Test.
Immigration & Legal Services
BHITC assists and represents refugees during federal application processes for naturalization and family reunification. It is one of only a few providers in our region of low-cost Immigration services, ensuring all who need it have access to justice.
One World Kitchen
These pop-up cafes support aspiring refugee caterers realize their culinary dreams, allow guests to enjoy the cuisine of other nations, and invites all to take part in The Hope Center mission that helps refugees transition from surviving to thriving.
Transportation
The Hope Center knows that a common barrier between refugees and getting the support they need is lack of transportation. To combat this challenge and offer a full-spectrum of support, The Hope Center offers transportation via 15-passenger vans to and from classes and appointments.
Job Placement
Staff work in partnership with local employers to place refugees into job positions. The Center also provides access to computers and the internet for job searches and resume writing. Volunteers also partner with refugees to complete job applications and prepare for interviews.
After School Tutoring & Childcare
The Center is the only community resource that takes a "whole family approach" by offering free childcare to refugee parents as they attend classes. In addition, after school enrichment programs that help youth succeed in school.
Cultural Fairs & Celebrations
The Hope Center welcomes those from all over the world to find commonality within its doors. Events that demonstrate and share American culture, as well as traditions from around the world, help build bonds of understanding and friendship.
Career Pathways
The Hope Center provides pathways for immigrants to secure long-term careers with competitive pay. Through our practical programs, immigrants can build sustainable careers in fields such as healthcare and culinary arts.
